Terms & Conditions

1) Payment must be made by BACS and should be paid prior to the day of the visit to enable us to plan for the day. Payment for your activity implies that you have read, accepted and are agreeing to our terms and conditions.

2) Due to alpacas being herd animals we must take at least 2 on every walk, if your booking is for only one alpaca you will need to share a walk with another group and may need to wait until a space becomes available.

3) The minimum age for children having sole control of an alpaca is 12 years old. Children between the ages of 6 and 12 may walk an alpaca with a responsible adult and a 2nd lead rein. Children under the age of 6 are not permitted on the walk.

Ages of all children should be confirmed at the time of booking.    

4) A maximum of 2 people are allowed to walk an alpaca, so a charge is made for any extra people not walking their own alpaca but accompanying the group as we still have a duty of care and are responsible for their health & safety.

5) We reserve the right to halt the activity or refuse to include an individual on an activity under the following circumstances:

  a) If the visitor is unfit to control an alpaca due to influence of alcohol or drugs.
  b) If the visitor is showing inappropriate behaviour towards other individuals or alpacas.
 
c) If the visitor's inclusion in the group could constitute a safety risk or hazard to the activity, for example not being able to understand and        follow safety advice and instructions given.

6) We reserve the right to cancel the activity at short (or no) advance notice due to the following circumstances:

  a) Weather conditions which could cause the activity to be unsafe or risk injury to participants.
  b) Illness or personal (family) circumstances relating to the owners or helpers of Wreay Syke Alpacas.
  c) Health or welfare of any alpaca within the herd.
  d) External factors (e.g. animal movement restrictions).

  e) Government restrictions due to the effects of Coronavirus.

In the event of cancellation as described above we will offer an alternative date or offer a voucher to be redeemed by the expiry date detailed on the voucher.

7) Should you cancel/reduce your booking within 48 hours of the activity or miss the activity due to being late, unless due to exceptional circumstances no refund will be given. If we have been notified more than 48 hours in advance we will re-arrange your activity for an alternative date or offer a voucher to be redeemed by the expiry date detailed on the voucher. Any refunds will incur a £0.70 administration fee, taken off the refund amount to cover bank charges incurred.

8) We give you clear directions to our activity start locations in our email and attachment, please do not follow the Drop Pin on Google maps as you may be taken to the wrong location. Wreay Syke Alpacas cannot be held responsible for you having to cancel your visit due to not being able to get here or turn up late due to you following the wrong directions.

9) No person during the activity (other than the owners) will have sole control of more than 1 alpaca at any time.

10) No dogs are permitted on any of our activities.

11) Wreay Syke Alpacas cannot be held responsible for incidents caused by people not wearing appropriate clothing as detailed in the booking information.

12) While Wreay Syke Alpacas do carry Public Liability Insurance, guests remain responsible for ensuring their own safety, as well as those within their group during the activity.

Additional Information

At least one guide will be first aid trained and will carry a basic first aid kit on the walk.
